Finishing Up

Busy day as I helped set up the production of evidence in the Manneh case in Abuja. One of our witnesses has been taken out of the country in question, his testimony reduced to affidavit form as a backup, with his entry into Nigeria for live testomony on Monday. After the hearing, this witness will be unable to return to certain places so his future location and work will be part of what is taken care over here. Nothing is easy with regard to this kind of effort. The point is that there are different facets to the work here that one never sees in the states. That said, the attorneys and Media Foundation personnel exemplify the very best of the work being done to advance the human rights agenda and freedom of the press in all parts of the globe. They and the NGO's (Non-Governmental Organizations Persons), both in the states and out, march to a different drummer and thankfully so for the many people they help.

Just returned from a beer and dinner at the Betz home. They head for Cairo on Mon. so will likely see them Sun as we have a final evening meal out somewhere. Mon I will be at the office here hopefully working with the new Legal Director as he prepares to take over from me. Goodnight everyone.

It's very cold here today. The sun was out, but it didn't seem to help. It was the first day of shopping for the Christmas season. I worked on painting miniature scenes, dogs, and a partridge with a pear today. I have been selling hand painted charms on eBay with some success.I give the gym teacher at the Deaf School 10% of my profits at this time .I plan to expand the percentage as soon as my business is past the launch stage. She has rescued about 2000 dogs and cats, so she constantly has a full house. I usually work within an inch or less depending on the area suitable for painting on the surface of the charm. I left for the craft store at 5:00pm and the traffic was way down plus I had a 50% coupon only to find out at the check out counter that I was a day early( bah humbug!). So due to the line behind me, I paid full price for my art supplies($21.00) and decided that it was a good lesson in that the next time I'll read the dates on the coupon. All the best, Linda Stevens

Dan,
Sounds like you are very busy and
getting things accomplished.
The Betz Family have become
good friends and hope you can
keep in contact with them
as you both go your separate ways.
God bless you,
Love, Kathleen & Billy
