Enjoyed your photos this past week, especially of you behind the podium at the conference! Your soccer photos were timely, too, as Minneapolis is all excited that David Beckham is in town today, LA Galaxy v. MN Thunder. Vikes losing this afternoon miserably to BG Packers 34-0 at this writing. Good grief. Travel Channel’s Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations Mon 9:00pm (CST) features Ghana, “where he visits an open-air market, samples locally brewed palm wine, helps the local fishermen with their catch, (will it be Tilapia?) and enjoys a savory stew of beef tongue and goat meat at a ‘chop bar.’” Should have added interest for us because of our “connection” over there!
Dear Dan the Tilapia fan, Thank you for this blog and daily update site. It has been great learning more about Africa, and your responsibilities there. They're lucky to have a guy like you helping them. I'm sure you are accomplishing all you have set out to do with your African counterparts. Today the men's league guys (whom you've met at Rose Creek) and I went to Edgewood (where you played in the Roger Maris Tournament) to play what will probably be the last round of the season for me. It was a balmy 50 degrees and breezy. I shot 81. Tough going in the wind and very fast greens. However, what really made my day was my walleye dinner after the game. Delicious filets savored in my secret Chapman recipe breading mix, fried to a golden brown, with a side dish of hash browns and Bush's baked beans. Tomorrow I plan to have filet of blue gill with the same recipe. Have no fear Dan, I have saved a bag of filets just for you for our next get together. Believe it or not Halley's called and were wondering about dates for 08. I told them that you and I need to discuss before we know for sure. I have been working with the Tilapia guide in the area and he says sorry, he regrets to inform you that only walleye, southerns, and blue gills are available. I've also got some great info for you on Lac Seul Lake in Ontario. When you get back I'm anxious to tell you about it. All is fine here. We wish you the best and a great trip home. It won't be long now. Love, Mike, Connie, and the boys.
P.S. Just kidding on the Walleye dinner; I actually had Quesadillas, and am saving all walleye filets until you get here. Take care; we love you.
